The body of a young girl has been recovered from the waters of a low country river. The SCDNR says, the girl's body was found in the Edisto River in Colleton County, just after 5 PM Tuesday.
Divers from the DNR and Colleton County made the discovery. A search of the Edisto River began Sunday after witnesses told DNR officials that the child was playing in shallow water and was swept away by the current.
The Colleton County Coroner's Office has identified the girl as six year old, Aria Moody of Walterboro.
