A civil suit has now been filed against a woman who was reportedly intoxicated when she crashed her vehicle into a golf cart, killing a woman named Samantha Miller and injuring her newly wedded husband, Aric Hutchinson.
The suit has been filed by an attorney representing Hutchinson and Jamie Komoroski is named as a defendant. She was criminally charged following the fatal crash in the Folly Beach area in late April. Komorski reportedly had a blood alcohol content of over three times the legal limit.
Also named in the suit are several Low Country bars and restaurants, as Komorski was said to have been bar-hopping prior to the crash. Komorski was a newly hired employee of Taco Boy and was said to have been drinking at an employee function.
The civil action accuses her supervisor of arranging a function in which excessive amounts of alcohol was consumed. The suti also alleges that the establishments Komorski visited prior to the crash overserved her and allowed her to drive knowing she was intoxicated.
