A corrections officer has been hospitalized after being stabbed and taken hostage by an inmate. The South Carolina Department of Corrections says the officer was stabbed multiple times at Kershaw Correctional in Lancaster County.
The inmate reportedly used a prison "shank" in the attack. He allegedly took the officer hostage for a brief period of time and stole his keys as well.
