A Florida company is recalling cucumbers shipped to the Carolinas.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Fresh Start Produce Sales, Inc. out of Delray Florida is recalling whole cucumbers due to possible Salmonella contamination. The cucumbers where shipped in bulk to 14 states, including South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia between May 17-24, 2024.  They're approximately 1.5 - 2.0 inches in diameter, and 5-9 inches long.

Mini cucumbers and English cucumbers are not effected.

Fresh Start Produce has notified retail distribution centers, wholesalers, and food service distributors in each state and requested that they remove the cucumbers from commerce. They should not have hit store shelves, but Consumers who did purchase cucumbers may want to double check with their store to be sure the recalled product was not sold there.
