Federal trial set for Georgia electronic voting system

A federal trial is now set to determine whether Georgia’s electronic election system's security flaws are severe enough to threaten voters' constitutional rights.

At the heart of the controversy is the much-maligned touchscreen voting machine.


A lawsuit filed by a list of registered voters and a group called the Coalition for good Governance targets Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and members of the State Election Board.

The suit demands a return to hand-marked paper ballots for the '24 election.

Since it was first was first filed in 2017, Georgia's emergence as a pivotal swing state put a national spotlight on its elections and Dominion Voting Systems.

Trump supporters claimed their vulnerabilities allowed the virtual theft of the State's 2020 presidential vote.

Dominion fired back with court case that cost Fox News 787-million dollars.

But Federal Judge Amy Totenberg -- sister of the NPR reporter, Nina Totenberg -- now says the questions can only be settled in a bench trial, meaning no jury, which she has set for January 9th.
