Former Low Country Deputy found guilty on all charges

A former Low Country Deputy has been found guilty on all charges following the deaths of two women. Former Horry County Deputy Stephen Flood was convicted on charges stemming from a 2018 incident. Court records say Flood drove into rising water after Hurricane Florence while transporting two women.

Both 45 year old, Wendy Newton of North Carolina and 43 year old, Nicollete Green of Myrtle Beach died when the van filled up with water. Flood's then co-worker Joshua Bishop was in the van, he's been charged with two counts of Involuntary Manslaughter stemming from the incident.

The jury deliberated on the Flood verdict for just over 2 hours. Flood has been sentenced to 18 years on charges of Involuntary Manslaughter and Reckless Homicide.
