Governor McMaster cruises to win in Republican primary

Governor Henry McMaster claimed the Republican primary in decisive fashion Tuesday. Results say McMaster carried 80% of the majority and getting well over 175,000 total votes. His opponent Harrison "Trucker Bob" Musselwhite garnered about 16% and got a total of over 35,000 votes.

McMaster will advance to face Joe Cunningham. He took the Democratic nomination, early results showed Cunningham carrying 56% of the vote. He defeated Mia McLeod and three other candidates.

McLeod finished 2nd earning 30% of the vote. She won multiple Pee Dee area counties, Cunningham carried the Upstate and Low Country counties. McMaster and Cunningham will square off in November's general election.
