K9 Deputy Sniffs Out Massive Fentanyl Haul

During a traffic stop February 5, 2025, The Florence County South Carolina Sherriff's Office said a narcotic detection K9 alerted to the odor or narcotics coming from a vehicle they pulled over speeding along I-95SB.

A search of the vehicle uncovered more than 6 and a half pounds of pure fentanyl. "Deputies estimate the seizure to constitute over 300,000 doses with an estimated street value of over $3,000,000.00."

42 year old Alex Gregory Aguilar of Cameron, North Carolina was arrested and charged with Trafficking. He's currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.

Under South Carolina law, Trafficking in Fentanyl is a felony which upon conviction carries a mandatory prison sentence of 25 years without the possibility of parole.
