This is no bologna... Boar's Head deli meats, possibly tainted with Listeria, are being recalled.
Late in July 2024, the Food Safety and Inspection Service expanded a nationwide recall of Boar's Head deli meats to include ready-to-eat Liverwurst, hams, bolognas, salami and ready to eat bacon, due to possible Listeria contamination. (Photos below)
The recall included a total of 71 products made between May 10, 2024 and July 29, 2024.
This week, the SC Department of Health said two deaths in the Low Country are linked to the recalled Boar's Head Deli meat.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to investigate the Listeria outbreak, which has claimed the lives of 3 others; one in IL, NJ and VA.
Illnesses have also been reported in NC and GA.
Listeriosis can cause a multitude of problems including convulsions and other gastrointestinal symptoms.
The Department of Health and CDC urge customers to throw out of return any recalled products.
PREVIOUSLY REPORTED: The Food Safety and Inspection Service announced this past Friday, July 26, 2024, Boar's Head ready-to-eat Liverwurst and other deli meats are being recalled due to possible Listeria contamination.

VIRGINIA HAM OLD FASHIONED HAM
Extra Hot Italian and Italian Cappy Style Ham
Beef, Garlic and Regular Bolognas
Beef Salami
and STEAKHOUSE ROASTED BACON HEAT & EAT
Although no illnesses have been reported in South Carolina, cases have been reported in Georgia and North Carolina.
The products were distributed to retail deli locations nationwide.
Listeriosis can cause a multitude of problems including fever, muscle aches, loss of balance, convulsions or other gastrointestinal symptoms.
