A lowcountry inmate making a tech support call after their contraband cell phone was disconnected.

“What can I do to get it cut back on?”, a lowcountry inmate asked a T-Mobile support agent in reference to their contraband cell phone.

“Nothing”, the South Carolina Department of Corrections responded on twitter while sharing the unique interaction.

The contraband phone was first discovered during a dorm search at Lee Correctional Institute, which led to the denial of service and the eventual discovery of the recorded conversation between the unidentified inmate and the tech support agent.

Department of Corrections Director Bryan Stirling said in a social media post sharing the interaction that this served as “evidence the FCC order denying service to contraband phones is working at Lee Correctional Institute.”
