Tripp Taylor expressed his history growing up in the lowcountry and his interest in classic soul music during the interview before offering a rendition of Ray Charles’s I Believe to My Soul.
The judges offered strong praises for Taylor’s audition.
Judge Katy Parry said he “just has all of it” while judge Lionel Richie specifically complemented his stage presence.
All three judges voted yes to send Taylor on to the next stage of the competition in Hollywood.
Three more South Carolina auditions are set to take place this coming Sunday, March 19th.
