One of the state’s biggest high school football stars is accused of a sex crime. David Bennett Galloway III, more commonly known as Bennett Galloway is a star Running Back at Chapin High in the Midlands. He’s being charged in Richland County with 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor between the ages of 11 and 14.
Galloway is a Senior 3-star prospect who chose N.C. State over offers from Army and Navy among others. As of Thursday evening, he was in custody awaiting a bond hearing. Last week, Galloway led Chapin to a playoff win after gaining nearly 250 total yards and scoring 4 times. He’s not expected to play in Chapin’s 2nd round game Friday night against unbeaten Fort Dorchester.
