Two deputies in the Midlands were hospitalized after being exposed to fentanyl during a traffic stop, Wednesday. Saluda County Deputies responded to a report of a reckless driver that nearly crashed into multiple vehicles.
The driver identified as Tammy Rodgers, was then pulled over. Deputies say, Rodgers was unsteady on her feet during the traffic stop. After a search of her vehicle, Rodgers was then arrested for trafficking fentanyl.
During the stop, two deputies were exposed to fentanyl and became ill. Both deputies were transported to Lexington Medical Center, the Sheriff's Office says they both are expected to be okay.
