The saga continues in the murder case against once powerful, LowCountry lawyer Alex Murdaugh. On Monday, his defense team filed a motion, to shine light on why an expert witness changed his opinion, on the blood patterns on a shirt worn by Murdaugh the night his wife and son were killed.
His attorneys claim that the state pressured their outside expert and that led to the change in testimony. The motion was filed in Colleton County and is part of a much larger motion filed by the defense.
The original document is nearly 100 pages and includes an effort to have testimony on the blood analysis excluded. Murdaugh's double murder trial is set to begin in January.
