The North Carolina DMV has announced plans to implement self-service kiosks in grocery stores around the state.
The kiosks come in response to the state losing employees to the private sector, resulting in increased wait times at various North Carolina DMVs.
Appointments are available to be signed up for online up to 90 days out, and appointment times are updated daily. However, these appointments are regularly booked up.
The kiosks are set to be implemented at grocery stores around the state starting in October later this year.
NC DMV Commissioner Wayne Goodwin said he hopes the 24/7-access kiosks will help in reducing the current high wait times at DMVs.
