Both men were indicted by a State Grand Jury Tuesday on two counts of Narcotics Conspiracy related to Oxycodone. Smith also was indicted on charges of Money Laundering, Forgery, Trafficking Meth, Possession Of a Controlled Substance and Marijuana Possession.

Smith had not been previously indicted by a State Grand Jury, but was indicted last November by a Grand Jury in Hampton County. The charges in that indictment stem from his alleged involvement in a murder-for-hire and insurance fraud scheme allegedly orchestrated by Murdaugh.

The AG's Office says, Murdaugh wrote over 2 million dollars worth of checks to Smith over an 8 year period. This now makes 16 indictments and a total of 81 charges against Murdaugh, who's accused of swindling his victims out of a total of nearly 8.5 million dollars. "
