Facebook post from Gwinnett County Police:
We understand that no one enjoys being pulled over, but this is a perfect example of why officers do what we do. Seat belts and child safety seats are incredibly important, especially for our youngest passengers. Even if you follow every traffic law and do everything right behind the wheel, there's always a chance another driver won't. In this crash, a child was ejected from the vehicle and, amazingly, walked away with only a few minor scratches.
As we've discussed in previous posts about Operation Summer Brake, Gwinnett County Police is focusing on traffic violations that contribute to serious injury and fatal crashes. This video serves as a reminder that traffic enforcement is not just about writing citations. It's about preventing tragedies and keeping our community safe. Please take a few extra seconds to make sure everyone in your vehicle is properly restrained before every trip. In this case, those few seconds could have made all the difference.
