More details are expected to be released Monday after one person was killed and a deputy was injured in an officer involved shooting in the Pee Dee area of South Carolina.
The incident happened Sunday at a residence in Lee County about 50 miles Northeast of Columbia. Lee County Sheriff Daniel Simon confirmed that a deputy was shot in the leg during the incident. The Lee County Coroner's Office reports that one person died at the scene.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been made public and no further information on the incident was provided, as of the time of this report. SLED has been called into investigate which is standard procedure in officer involved shootings.
