The race for State Superintendent of Education has a new hopeful. Republican, Kathy Maness announced her intentions to run for the soon to be open position, earlier this week. Maness has for years been a Statehouse advocate for teachers, and taught for nearly 10 years at Lancaster Elementary. She also has worked with non-profit groups since the mid-90's. Maness is looking to fill the void that will be left by current Superintendent Molly Mcgrath, who is set to retire from the post.
