Doctors say a state trooper will recover from being shot in face by a driver he had pulled over around 3:30 Sunday morning in Bamberg County. Lance Corporal B.A. Frazier had stopped the car for speeding, twenty miles an hour over the limit.
The shot striking him in the face was fired as he approached the vehicle. He was able radio for help. The car was spotted, the chase resumed by deputies and another Highway Patrol unit.
The fugitive lost control, his car crashed into a house just over the Orangeburg County line. The suspect scheduled for a bond hearing Monday.
