A student at a college in the Midlands is dead after being hit by a car. The State Newspaper says a student was hit while walking to class at Columbia International University around 8AM, Thursday morning.
The State's report says the driver did stop to check on the female student after she was knocked to the ground. The school confirmed the incident in a news release, earlier today.
The crash is being investigated by the Columbia Police Department they said the driver was driving too fast for conditions.
They have not announced any further details. Columbia International is a small, private, Christian University on the city's northside.
