A student is injured after being shot on campus at an in-state university. Officials at South Carolina State in Orangeburg say a male student was shot in a dorm around 12:30 Friday morning.
The student was transported to an area hospital to be treated for what were described as non-life threatening injuries. The shooting prompted an hour long lockdown on campus, while a search for the suspect took place.
The lockdown was lifted after it was determined that there was no ongoing threat on campus. The incident remains under investigation, no arrests have been announced, as of the time of this report.
