A deputy is injured and a suspect is dead after a law enforcement involved shooting in the Low Country, over the weekend. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says, the shooting happened Sunday afternoon and caused the closure of a stretch of Savannah Highway near Ravenel, SC .
The Sheriff's Office says, the deputy was injured but was in stable condition after being treated at a Low Country hospital. The suspect was fatally shot in the incident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
SLED is involved in investigating the shooting, which is standard protocol for officer involved shooting across South Carolina. No further details have been made available, as of the time of this report. Charleston County officials are expected to make more information available, shortly.
