A suspect is dead after an officer involved shooting in the Low Country, this morning. The incident happened around 4:15 AM in Jasper County, SC about 20 miles north of Savannah, Georgia.
The suspect's identity has not been released. The Hardeeville Police Department and Jasper County Sheriff's Office says the suspect led them on a pursuit that ended near Highway 278 and I-95 in Hardeeville.
The suspect then allegedly fired shots at officers, who shot back and killed the suspect.
No further details on the incident have been made available, as of the time of this report. SLED is investigating the incident which is standard protocol for any shooting in South Carolina involving law enforcement.
