A suspect is in custody after a stabbing at a high school in the Midlands. The Richland County Sheriff's Office says a fight at Ridge View High School in Columbia, Tuesday led to a student being stabbed.
The suspect then fled on foot and two schools, Ridge View and nearby Rice Creek Elementary were put on secure status, meaning that no one was allowed in or out of the buildings.
The suspect was taken into custody after a search that included air and ground support. The name of the suspect has not yet been released.
The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries suffered in the incident. There's been no update on the victim's condition.
