A low country college has once again been given high marks in recent rankings by a national publication. U.S. News and World Report released the newest edition of their rankings this week. The Citadel was named the #1 public college in the South for the 12th straight year.

Citadel President General Glenn Walters said " “This ranking is a powerful acknowledgement of the dedicated work from all members of The Citadel Family — cadets, students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents and supporters. I could not be more proud to be a part of such a passionate institution.”
The Citadel scored high individual rankings in various individual categories as well. They were ranked #1 as the best public college in the South for veterans. Their undergrad teaching program was ranked 4th in the Southern region and they ranked the 16th best value among Southern colleges.
