A U.S. Senator's stand towards abortion policy in the military has put a hold on promotions for leaders at a South Carolina base.
The Post and Courier reports that Alabama Republican and former Auburn Football Coach Tommy Tuberville's stance has out over 300 military promotions around the nation on hold. Two of them at Shaw Air Force Base in the Midlands.
One of those two people was prevented from taking a new job at another base according to the Post and Courier's report. The paper called Tuberville's actions "a political blockade" and says unnamed Air Force officials say his actions are having an enormous impact resulting in less military readiness.
