Weekend winter weather caused two police officers to crash while responding to a deadly shooting in the Pee Dee area of the state. Police responded just after 8PM Saturday, to a shooting in Lake City (which is about 25 miles south of Florence).
The Coroner's Office there says 22 year old, Jayden Cannon of Lake City was killed in the shooting. Lake City Police Chief Patrick Miles says two patrol vehicles collided due to the icy road conditions while on their way to the scene.
Miles say that both officers are okay following the crash, He also announced that the suspect is in custody and police recovered what they believe to have been the gun used in the shooting.
However, officials have not released the name of the suspect or charges against them, at this time.
