A multi-million dollar lawsuit following a shooting earlier this year at the Columbiana Center.
A $20 million lawsuit against the Columbiana Center mall following an Easter weekend shootnig that injured 15 people.
The lawsuit by two of the shooting victims alleges recklessness and negligence by Brookfield Properties and Andy Frain Services, the company that operates the mall and the security company respectively.
According to the lawsuit, the companies "refused to take appropriate measures to provide for the safety of its patrons, when they knew or should have known, that a dangerous environment existed."
The lawsuit also claimed that over 100 incident reports at or near the mall have been filed by the Columbia Police Department in the last five years.
