A utility worker in the midlands has died of electrocution, The Black River Electric Cooperative announced on their Facebook page that a lineman died Tuesday in Kershaw County, after coming in contact with a piece of equipment that had become energized.
The job site accident occurred while the lineman was working with a crew on Canty Hill Road, just east of Camden. Attempts to resuscitate him were made until paramedics arrived. He was pronounced dead at the MUSC Kershaw Medical Center.
The Kershaw County Coroner's Office has identified the lineman as 34 year old Timothy John Gardner of Sumter.
