My journey to become a kidney donor.

Elizabeth Kay

Last year, a few days before Christmas, we found out that my mother in-law is in stage 4 kidney failure.

It really shocked us all! Since then over 100 people have come forward and applied to be a kidney donor for her, because she is an AMAZING person who always gives to others.

As an immediate family member, I was in the the first group of people that they screened.

Surpisingly my husband Eric and I both passed the first few evaulations we are both in the final stages to find out if either of us are a match.

We each had to go to UW Health hospital in Madison for more testing.

Here's my story of what happened this week while I was there.

We are praying that one of us will be a match and we'll hopefully find out by Christmas. COVID has really delayed this process, so we need to have patience. If we are not a match, then they start the process over with the next group of people.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for our family member during this time.
