Meet Dan Hardee, the voice behind the tunes and the friendly personality that keeps you entertained on the drive home each day. Hailing from Colorado Springs, his love for music blossomed during his high school days when he immersed himself in the sounds of Rush, Def Leppard and Van Halen.
Dan's radio journey began early on, sparked by a precious gift from his dad - his first FM receiver at the age of 7. Fueled by passion, he later pursued Broadcasting at his local alma mater, Colorado State University-Pueblo.
Luck was on Dan's side, as he secured his very first broadcasting gig just two days after graduation; running the studio cameras for the morning news on KOAA-TV. His radio career soon followed in Colorado Springs in 2006, where he charmed listeners on 92.9 Peak FM, but his ambitions eventually led him north to Denver in 2011.
Dan joined The Mountain in 2016 as the afternoon on-air personality, connecting with the audience through his infectious enthusiasm for classic rock. His unique blend of charisma and love for the music quickly endeared him to the station's listeners, making him a beloved presence in the Denver radio scene. Dan was appointed as the station’s Program Director in 2022.
If you happen to run into Dan outside the studio, the first thing that will catch your attention is his towering height - he stands tall at an impressive 6 foot 8 inches. While he may not be hitting the basketball courts, Dan is always ready to lend a hand, reaching for items on the top shelf for old ladies at King Soopers.
Beyond the mic, you'll find Dan savoring the good times with friends, relaxing on a patio with a refreshing brew, indulging in brunches, or exploring the great outdoors through hiking and biking. And when it's time to unwind, he knows how to Netflix and binge with the best of them.
Whether you're tuning in great music or curious about the man behind the microphone, Dan brings his love for music, radio and life to The Mountain, making every day on the airwaves an unforgettable experience. Keep rockin' with Dan every weekday afternoon from 3p-7p!
