What Is “Cards for Kids”?
Cards for Kids is a community project from The Slacker Show on Alice 105.9 to bring some extra joy to kids receiving care at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
We’re asking kids to create cheer cards filled with happy messages, fun drawings, and encouragement — all of which will be delivered to pediatric patients to help brighten their day.
What Should Kids Write?
We encourage positive, uplifting, and fun messages, such as:
“Sending you smiles!”“You are awesome!”“Hope your day is full of rainbows and donuts!” Jokes, cartoons, fun characters, and colorful drawings. Think cheerful and friendly, not focused on illness or recovery.
Please avoid “get well soon” messages — many patients are in long-term care, and we want cards that simply bring joy, no pressure attached.
What Should NOT Be on the Cards?
To make sure every card can safely be given to patients, Children’s Hospital Colorado has a few important guidelines:
NO:
Glitter of any kind, Stickers with texture or loose pieces, Googly eyes or anything that could fall off, (choking hazards) food, candy, or scented items, Religious messages or symbols. Cards should be flat, clean, and fully paper-based so they can be safely handled and distributed by hospital staff.
Where Do We Drop Off Cards?

Big O Tires stores across the Denver metro area are serving as official drop-off locations.
Just bring your class’s cards in a box or envelope and drop them off during normal business hours.

When can I drop them off?
Starting Wednesday, January 21st, you can drop them off!
When do I need to drop them off by?
Tuesday, February 10, 2026 will be the LAST day to drop them off
