LISTEN NOW: Paramore on the importance of making space for mental health and learning to say no

“We took four years off for our mental health,” Hayley Williams shared. Adding, “we’d been traveling for over a decade and we were like, ‘it’s probably gonna be beneficial for us to take care of ourselves.’”

Noting, “it’s something we have to check in with each other a lot,” which comes naturally to the band, “having grown up together… we know each other, we’re friends.”

Something that might come less naturally is being able to say “no to stuff,” because “you want to be able to do everything all the time and not let anyone down.” But as Hayley said, “if you’re really prioritizing your mental health, then like boundaries are a really big part of that.”

To hear everything Paramore had to say, listen to the clip above.
