No one wants to be around someone with bad breath, but most of the time the people don’t even realize how bad their breath is. However, with people wearing masks out in public due to the coronavirus, many are now realizing just how bad their breath actually is. Now, a new poll has found the majority of Americans are brushing their teeth more after smelling their breath while wearing a mask.

The recent survey, conducted by OnePoll in conjunction with Dr. Squatch, was looking to learn more about people’s morning and nighttime brushing habits. What they found was that 57% of respondents are brushing their teeth more due to wearing a mask during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Even though people feel strongly that brushing their teeth is an important part of their daily lives, it’s clear that there’s major room for improvement in the experience,” said a spokesperson for Dr. Squatch.

The survey asked 3,000 Americans about dental hygiene, and the majority of respondents find bad breath to be a turn off, and worry about their own mouth odor. Overall, it seems people are working harder than ever to fix their breath issues, especially after noticing their breath while wearing a mask. It seems masks are serving a number of purposes during the pandemic.
