Dealing with a hangover is the absolute worst, but if you’re experienced you probably had a routine down pat to alleviate the headache and get back into shape.

Some people think a little “hair of the dog” is the trick.  Others opt for a huge plate of greasy deliciousness to soak up all that alcohol.

Depending on where you live that of greasy deliciousness could look mighty different.

VinePair recently set out to look for the most popular hangover foods by region in the U.S., and we have to tell you, all of these options would sound might tasty after a night on the town.

Texas has a number of foods to choose from, but this study determined the ultimate hangover food in the Lone Star State is breakfast tacos!  Hey, nothing competes with a 2am Whataburger taquito run!

Other popular choices for the Southwest region include Ron's Hamburgers & Chili in Oklahoma, huevos rancheros in New Mexico, and Sonoran hot dogs in Arizona, which is a hot dog with pinto beans, tomatoes, salsa, and other toppings.

Around other parts of the country, we’ve got cheese curds in Wisconsin, the Garbage Plate in Upstate New York, Loco Moco in Hawaii, and Steak Fingers in Idaho.

Shocking, in Louisiana, hungover folks are not opting for any Cajun food, but a noodle dish called Yaka mein, which actually has its origins in the state!
