It's not unusual for films to be edited whenever they are shown on television. Normally scenes are cut due to their content or for the interest of time, but these edits for Star Wars take things to the next level.
In order to save some time on ad breaks for the movie's broadcast on television in Chile, editors added in beer ads right in the middle of the movie!
During a conversation between Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Obi-Wan is shown reaching into a cooler full of ice and taking out a nice, cold beverage, right in the middle of the scene!
In fact, SEVERAL scenes in Star Wars had beer ads edited into them!
Many online are calling these cuts fake, but according to MovieWeb, George Lucas was involved in a legal battle at the time with the Chilean Council for Self-Regulation and Advertising Ethics over these edits.
