Here in Texas, there are some who love Whataburger so much they wish they could live in one. While sadly no Whataburger locations are offering overnight stays, one family in Texas decided to give a squirrel living in their backyard the dream Texas home.
The family went viral recently after sharing photos of the mini Whataburger-themed tree house they built for a squirrel they’ve been taking care of for over a year.
Two years ago, Keith Morgan and his daughter Riley spotted a baby squirrel without a mother living in their backyard, and decided to give it a family. The family named the squirrel Dale, and after caring and feeding it, they finally decided to make it truly feel right at home in Texas.
As seen in the photos that recently went viral, the family built a wooden home for the squirrel in the shape of a Whataburger store, complete with a Whataburger sign, orange and white paint and the classic A-frame shape.
"We said, 'OK. If he wants to stick around. We'll build him a house in the trees.' She's a big Whataburger fan and we decided to channel that into the home,” said Keith Morgan. According to My San Antonio, the home took the family two days to build. Now Dale the squirrel is truly living the Texas dream.
