2019 is a good year for Beastie Boys album anniversaries. Surviving members Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz and Michael “Mike D” Diamond are celebrating Paul’s Boutique, Ill Communication and To the 5 Boroughs with new vinyl reissues.
1989’s Paul’s Boutique featuring “Hey Ladies” turns 30 this year. The reissue will be pressed on limited edition 180-gram translucent violet vinyl. 1994’s Ill Communication featuring “Sabotage” turns 25 this year and is available in silver metallic. 2004’s To the 5 Boroughs featuring “Ch-Check it Out” turns 15 this year and is available in blue.
All three vinyl reissues will be released on October 4th with options for bundles with t-shirts featuring the classic album covers. You can check them out and pre-order them here.
The Beastie Boys already released new versions of To the 5 Boroughs and Paul’s Boutique this year featuring remixes and B-sides. There was also a documentary dedicated to Ill Communication.
