Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday night and revealed they have a lot more in common than you might think. Well, at least they used to.

During the interview, Jimmy Fallon asked the pair about matching tattoos he’d heard they had. As it turns out, the rumors were true and the story is just as bizarre as you’d hope.
“We were dressed as babies,” said Cyrus. “Everything seemed fun and fine.” Wait. Babies? What?
“We did this SNL sketch where we were babies that were rapping — trap babies,” clarified Pete. “One of the many brilliant ideas I bring to the SNL table,” he joked.
Miley chimed in, “At the end, our excuse for it all, you know Larry David said, ‘What is going on?’ and we said, ‘We babies.’ And for some reason looked at each other and it was like, ‘that’s a great tattoo.’”
Pete acted fast, texting his tattoo guy to come to 30 Rock and before they knew it, Cyrus and Davidson had matching ink. That is, until Pete had his removed with a handful of his other tattoos.
“It was a very dark time, I think, in our lives. At least for me.” Pete laughed.
The two can be seen co-hosting Miley's New Year's Eve Party on NBC. The special will air live from Miami on December 31 from 10:30 pm until 12:30 am ET. Fans can live-stream the event via Peacock.
