As any good fisherman will say; fishing is all about patience. For one fisherman in Texas, his patience definitely paid off, as he recently set a world record after hauling in an extremely rare fish. Not only did the fish break a world record, but it was also a hybrid fish, giving the man another record.
Wyatt Frankens made the one-in-a-lifetime catch while fishing at the O.H. Ivie Reservoir in Texas. Frankens had hoped to catch one of the large-mouth bass that he heard were currently in the area, but what ended up on the end of his line was even more impressive. The fish ended up being a hybrid large-mouth, small-mouth bass.
Frankens first believed it was just a lake record fish, but after posting photos online, he was quickly informed the fish was actually a world record catch. After sending in scales to be analyzed, Frankens learned his fish was indeed a 7.6-pound hybrid large-mouth, small-mouth bass, according to Fox News. Now, he is happy to claim his world record title, saying it’s not just a big deal for him, but his entire community.
