Dallas Market Hall was once touted as “the world's largest privately owned exhibition hall,” appears to be nearing its end.

The hall will be hosting its final event over the weekend and though its future is unclear, many believe it will be torn down to make room for a data center.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Market Hall officials and city zoning records indicate the building is located on a series of parcels where Dallas-based Crow Holdings plans to construct a 245-megawatt data center campus on 40 acres.

When asked for clarification, Crow Holdings declined to provide any additional details about the future of Market Hall.

Dallas-Fort Worth currently ranks as the No. 1 primary data center market in the world, based on a number of factors including land and power availability, as well as political and regulatory conditions.
