A police source told the Daily News that Cowie, of Oklahoma, was the man who was discovered dead. TMZ also reported Cowie’s death, with sources telling the outlet that a friend found him in the bedroom. It’s unclear whose apartment Cowie was found in or what he was doing in the city.

Police said the death is not suspicious at this time and that they’re awaiting a medical examiner’s report.

The source told the Daily News that Cowie appears to have died from natural causes, while TMZ reported that no drugs were found at the scene.

On the Netflix show, Cowie was described as the head keeper of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Oklahoma, which was run by Joe Exotic, who is serving time after he was convicted of trying to hire two different men to kill animal rights activist Carole Baskin.

Cowie reportedly continued to work at the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park after Exotic's arrest and also played a role in convicting Exotic.
