This week Barker, who’s spoken out numerous times about the traumatic experience throughout the years -- sharing the mental and physical impacts he’s suffered -- took a moment to commemorate his former assistant, Chris Baker, and security guard, Charles “Che” Still, both of whom were killed in the plane crash, along with both pilots.
Barker also included his friend and famed DJ, Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein, who was also on the flight. Goldstein survived the crash, however died one year later due to an overdose.
Flying in a private plane from Columbia, South Carolina, to Los Angeles on September 19, Barker’s aircraft experienced an emergency during takeoff. After further investigation, it was found that the tires has burst which prompted the pilot to abort the flight, leading the plane to skid across the runaway and become engulfed in flames.
As a result of the crash, Barker spent three months in the hospital, and underwent 26 surgeries to treat third degree burns on 65% of his body, and up until quite recently, avoided airplanes at all costs, opting to travel by tour bus, cars, and cruise ships.
Taking to his IG stories to honor his late friends, atop a black background Travis wrote, “Rest In Peace,” alongside a dove emoji followed by the names “Lil Chris, Che, DJAM.” Travis added, “Gone but never forgotten,” with prayer hand emojis.

Travis also reposted some throwback photos in memory of his fallen friends: One of him and DJ AM from an account paying tribute to his memory, as well as one of himself with Lil Chris.
