A short clip of Vedder and Springsteen in conversation was shared on Vedder’s YouTube channel as the two discussed his latest solo album Earthling.

“With as much melody as you have, I still hear the punk and even a certain sort of metal influences on some of the songs,” Springsteen said. “The stuff that got put in my blender, it got started maybe with Jackson 5 when I was a kid,” Vedder says. “And then Beatles as a kid and growing up and then The Who took over big time.”

Vedder then gestured towards Springsteen, saying, “And then, my friend… ” Springsteen nodded his head and said “ah, grazie” before letting out a chuckle.

The teaser clip comes in advance of their full conversation, which is set to debut on Amazon Music and Amazon Live on February 11th at 2 PM ET. Their conversation surrounds Vedder’s new solo album Earthling, which was released on February 11th.

The album marks Vedder’s long-awaited solo return as his last solo studio album was 2011’s Ukulele Songs. The record features an impressive list of guests as Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and Ringo Starr join the Pearl Jam frontman on the album.
