Google has released their annual Year in Search data and trends looking back at the trillions of searches that defined the past year showing the top trending searches in the U.S. over the past year.

Found in the mountains of search data amid top pickle recipes, internet theories, and interior design styles are this year’s most searched artists, songs, music events, and performances.
Among the top musician searches, R&B star Usher topped the list due to his Super Bowl performance, his well-deserved 2024 BET honors, as well as the announcement and subsequent postponement of his Past Present Future tour due to a neck injury. Obviously, Diddy’s legal woes have landed him in the year’s top searches as well, followed by Kendrick Lamar and Drake respectively as fans followed along with their musical beef. Singer Justin Timberlake comes in at number 5 with his successful 2024 return and world tour continuing into the new year -- as well as a small DUI hiccup.
JT is followed by Country star Ingrid Andress whose drunken National Anthem performance at MLB’s 2024 Home Run Derby landed her in the news. Pop star Sabrina Carpenter had an incredible year kicking off the “Summer of Sabrina” with the release of her hit album Short N’ Sweet, subsequent world tour, and a now extinct relationship with Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan.
Nickelodeon actor and musician Drake Bell also made the Top 10 following the release of the docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, as well as Chappell Roan who broke onto the scene this year, taking home the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist and giving fans tons of incredible performances to seek out including her astounding appearance on SNL. Lastly, singer Tracy Chapman comes in at number 10 following the resurgence of her hit “Fast Car” which was covered by Country star Luke Combs in 2024.
Charli XCX and Troye Sivan's 2024 SWEAT outing topped the 2024 Music Tour searches, as well as Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n' Sweet Tour, and Future and Metro Boomin’s We Trust You Tour rounding out the top 3. XSCAPE & SWV’s Queens of R&B Tour also made the list, as well as Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, and more. Also, among the year's most-searched performances, Gojira's very metal Olympics performance made the cut, as well as Celine Dion's appearance at the games, plus Usher's Super Bowl set, Miley Cyrus' GRAMMYs performance, and more.
Celebrity Duos were also on the collective minds of the year’s Googlers, as Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, and more made the grade. Lastly, included in the year's most searched celebrity passings, are the deaths of both Toby Keith and Liam Payne.
