The thermal hot springs at Yellowstone National Park are quite the sight to see, but for some reason some people just can’t seem to enjoy just looking at the geysers. A man was banned from the park recently after leaving the pathway in attempt to get near the geyser. He apparently wanted to use the thermal feature to attempt to cook chicken.

The man from Idaho pleaded guilty recently to charges from an outing at Yellowstone National Park back in august. He was seen with friends carrying cookware while hiking toward the Shoshone Geyser Basin. A park ranger confronted the group and found the man carrying two chickens in a burlap sack.

Although the man was banned due to the park’s rules about leaving the pathway near the thermal features, for safety reasons, the park also prohibits food in the thermal areas. He will be banned from the park for two years and will pay two separate fines. Next time, he’ll have to think of a better way to cook his dinner.
