Frisco King is the latest in a long line of Taylor Sheridan-produced television programs.

Starring Samuel L. Jackson, the show was originally supposed to take place in New Orleans (with the title NOLA King, but circumstances forced Sheridan to shift focus to Frisco, because, as you know, people always say Frisco is the NOLA of the Southwest.

A spinoff of Sheridan’s Tulsa King, in Frisco King Jackson plays former hitman Russell Lee Washington Jr. Per WFAA, the show’s logline reads that Jackson’s character "lands in Frisco, Texas, and discovers a hustler’s playground hidden beneath the polished surface of American suburbia.

"Recruiting an ambitious protégé, a loyal driver, and a growing network of eccentric partners, Lee transforms small hustles into big business. But, every new score raises the stakes, and as his influence grows, so do the risks, forcing Lee to stay one grift ahead. Frisco may not know it yet, but its new king has arrived."

Frisco King will premiere two of its eight episodes on Friday, Dec. 18. Episodes will release weekly on Fridays exclusively on Paramount+ after the initial premiere.
