Rocker Jack White has entered the conversation surrounding the latest bit of bashing against the drumming abilities of his former wife and bandmate, Meg White.

Just days after Twitter came to the defense of drummer Meg White, of the now defunct, 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominated band The White Stripes, regarding her playing abilities, her former bandmate and ex-flame, Jack White, has weighed in rather heavily on the issue.
To be born in another time,
any era but our own would’ve been fine.
100 years from now,
1000 years from now,
some other distant, different, time.
one without demons, cowards and vampires out for blood,
one with the positive inspiration to foster what is good
Staying true to form, he shared a simple photo of Meg on his Instagram along with an original poem imparting his thoughts. Take a look at Jack's full poetic missive below.
Jack's message follows fan reactions and other noteworthy musicians who also offered up their support for Meg after a former journalist (who was since privately apologized to his followers) responded to a report stating that The White Stripes' 2004 GRAMMY award-winning hit "Seven Nation Army" could be the best song of the century. Markay's take was that Meg was a bad drummer and the band could have been "great" if there was someone better backing the duo.

U.K. rockers Garbage gave Meg a shout-out; while The Roots’ Questlove called Markay’s take “out of line af,” and Country songwriter Margo Price admitted it was Meg who actually inspired her to pick up the sticks. Margo was sure to add, “anyone who s**t talks her wouldn’t know rock and roll if it bit the[m] in the ass.”
Singer Karen Elson, who five years following his and Meg’s split was married to Jack from 2005-2013, also shared unwavering support for her exes ex, saying on Twitter, “Not only is Meg White a fantastic drummer, Jack also said the White Stripes would be nothing without her. To the journalist who dissed her, keep my ex husband’s ex wife name out of your f***ing mouth. (Please and Thank You)”
The White Stripes have been tapped as first-time nominees for the 2023 Rock Hall class, along with Missy Elliott, Warren Zevon, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Cyndi Lauper, George Michael, and Joy Division / New Order; as well as return nominees Iron Maiden, Soundgarden, A Tribe Called Quest, Kate Bush, The Spinners, and, Rage Against The Machine.
