Dolly Parton shared her singing and songwriting talents, along with her boundless warmth and energy with the world for six decades. She’s also been dressing well while she does it. And now Dolly’s fashion sense and its well-known penchant for form fitting silhouettes and rhinestones is on display for us all to appreciate for the first time outside of Dollywood.
Ahead of the GRAMMY Awards on February 10 the Grammy museum in Los Angeles opened a new exhibit featuring some of Dolly’s most famous outfits called “Diamond in a Rhinestone World.” In a statement, the museum’s executive director Michael Sticka said, “displaying these extraordinary costumes and pieces will take you through a career that has spanned decades of someone who is beloved as both a groundbreaking artist and a trendsetting pioneer.”
Not only does Dolly have her own exhibit but she’s also being honored as the MusiCares person of the year for her philanthropic support of various causes.
If you aren’t able to make it to Los Angeles, take a look here at some of Dolly’s shiniest and most outrageous outfits from her long and legendary career.
